yeah, to clarify my previous thoughts.
autechre is what happens when you give nerdy white people a bunch of toys and let them geek out. it's not fucking music, it doesn't groove. it's un-funky and geeky as fuck.
it sounds more like an experiment than anything else.
i could make the same shit if i rigged up a bunch of reaktor/max/msp/pd ensembles and let them clusterfuck each other.
