My dog is part husky and I lived with a husky for a few years...have friends with them as well. They are amazing, smart dogs. They also have a high prey drive and many of them are notorious cat killers...and any other small furry animal that moves. The husky I lived with killed a few neighbor cats who wandered into his yard...he also killed a couple of skunks and that was just awful.
Almost worst than that is their shed factor. My dog sheds like you wouldn't believe year around...spring is worst but plan on taking stock out in swiffers and buy a furminator.
They need a lot of exercise and they are wily problem solvers. If motivated they will figure out how to open the gate or door or whatever holds them back from freedom. They are not dogs for passive owners looking for a low maintenance dog.
