i always add a lot more laundry detergent than what is recommended. and by a lot more i mean about 3-4 times more. i am not sure why i do this. perhaps i feel this will make my clothes cleaner than they'd be otherwise. as a result i end up buying a lot more detergent and spending more money. but you can't really put a price on satisfaction.
