I've been learning bits of c4d on and off as and when the need arises, and I really like it - the animation keyframing is easy, and I've just got into Clothilde so Ive been burning my processor out all night rendering little sequences of reflective cloth bouncing around.
The MoGraph stuff is fun and can get a bit wild.
Obviously the better a machine you have, the more fun you'll have with more detailed renders...mine's like molasses sometimes : /
