I also have returned from Detroit. I had a really good time, except for the fact that the Penguins got pwnt yet again. I agree with canuck on the city being an absolute abomination on the eye. Messing up on their "People Mover" a.k.a. Elevated Train and going around the entire place ... I said they should have called called it, "Detroit ... Was this city ever inhabited? I see all the buildings ... there is no one inside of them ... and all the windows are broken, ceilings have collapsed and it looks like a ghost town."

Which makes for a horrible name but describes it quite aptly.

Not sure if it was our idiocy or naivety, but walking around the city was indeed like a ghost town except for the cops driving around and crackheads roaming the streets.

It was kind of like Mad Max, especially considering there are no standards in terms of the cars. Basically if it can run, it's allowed on their pot hole infested, so vacant you expect tumbleweeds to roll by.

Oh, and that "people mover"? Basically the only form of public transportation because of the emissions law, haha. Everyone drives in the motor city...

    GO PENS GO!!!

    • We just made it to the game in time the border was nuts with People from the US returning from Canada. Saved a bit of time by taking the bus through the tunnel which droped us off at the arena, so we didn't have to endure too much of the Detroit scenery. Was an awesome atmosphere though at the game!canuck

    • We had about 4 other pens fans in our section (217B). So we were pretty drowned out by detroit fans. They were pretty nice though, but probably only because their team was winning ha.canuck
    • nice, but only because their team was winning. The bus back to Windsor was a different story ha.canuck
