I agree this is a serious problem and one that most people feel powerless to do something about. I live in the country, drive a thirsty 4x4 (and yes I do need it). I now consider whether to use the vehicle at all. I don't feel that's progress or democratic. I'm also being hit with (retrogressive) taxation for over £400 per a year car tax. They have moved the goal posts for emissions and included vehicles which they said before were exempt. This has made my vehicle virtually worthless.
The way I see it is as a further attack on people who pay their way and their tax and also have just enough capacity to afford it and continue to.
I also blame the green lobby since they have now made it impossible to travel without huge excuses for additional tax. What the green don't get is that this money is just being used to fund the government not for any worthwhile environmental causes. Sorry guys, but you played right into the governments hands and now we're all stuck with it. Thanks.

    • shouldn't you be complaining about the way the money is spent then rather than moaning about the tax?weave
    • Yeah, I am angry at the way it's spent and the amount of it coming from me.johnnnnyh
