Exactly, Moth. People seem to have forgotten that current modes of individualised transport are an unsustainable luxury, not a right - and the 'good' days are over. Until we have some paradigm shift in our energy creation and transportation, we should accept that things need to change.
That's much of the reason I've stayed in London, rather than moving back to the kinds of places I was brought up (ie. around 30 miles from 'civilisation'). I don't necessarily like it, but I accept it as the less-selfish option.
