  A story that Modine tells is that apparently Val Kilmer was also up for his part (private joker). A lot of these guys knew each other from the NY/LA scene at the time, or went to school together. Apparently, Kilmer had a meltdown that he didn't get the role, and confronted Modine while he was having dinner somewhere. Kilmer stormed in kicking up chairs and shit saying that it was bullshit he didn't get the role.

  • i've heard rumors about kilmer being difficult to work with and that directors don't usually work with him more than once7point34
  • can't really support that with any fact though... so there that is7point34
