Ok i received my new glossy imac this morning.
I'm happily impressed, the window in my office is behind the monitor and I have movable ceiling lights so the the glare really isn't a problem, and infact I actually like it - alot.
The only time it is worth mentioning is when looking at an all black page, the monitor is basically like a mirror but you only have to switch focus from your face to the page and you see everything fine, if anything it is alot crisper and pops out more.
Leopard is running fine and CS3 seems to be running perfectly too.
Admittedly the quality of the monitor is not as 'wow' as the old white imacs but to I wanted a new machine under warrenty so fuck it I think im going to stick with this.
I very rarely do print work so perfect colour matching isn't an issue and I have 19" dell hooked up to it for that anyway.
All in all a very happy, and a little surprised, apple customer.
I actually just bought it in haste thinking that I could try it out and return it if not happy, but all good.
Risked the glare!
