dobs, would you prefer that I refrain from answering your questions? If that's what you guys really want, then I'll stay out of these discussions in the future.
I agree with some of the statements made by a few of you that fundamentalism has left a stain on the world. The current Western Christian brand began in the mid-20th century, largely as a response to theological liberalism. The fundies collectively abandoned the poor and the needy, believing that Godliness = separatism. We are still collectively reeling from that blow, and I take it many of you have primarily experience Christianity through the jackhammer rhetoric of fundamentalists. Thankfully, these Falwell types don't bear any resemblance to Christ.
