    I think there's 2 things going on here though. There's "made everything" god who was properly described (IMO) in Thomas Payne's 'The Age of Reason' which is a fantastic read if you have half an hour (its short). And then there's the "god cares what we do and will kill you and your family if you eat a pig" god. Who is very well described by any given religion's psychotic fundamentalists.

    I think Einstein probably had some notion of the former but , as is evidenced by the article, none of the latter.
