  I'm used to Windows keyboard layout (use it all day at work too) and I need alt to be right next to the space bar, it gets me Polish characters.
  I also need a slightly different layout when using the external keyboard.
  I've been remapping with DoubleCommand, but I don't think it treats Command keys separately other than remapping small enter to something else - perfect for me, but you want the opposite :)

  I read KeyRemap4MacBook did though, but never tried it.

  • Actually, DoubleCommand was initially intended to remap the small enter out - hence its name!rafalski
