I quit about five years ago when my mother (who smoked) had a heart attack. I had tried about five or six times before that, though. Now I just find it utterly vile. After a while, it just feels normal not to smoke, the same way it felt normal to smoke. Well worth every difficult moment at the beginning. I can't stand the smell now--makes me want to wretch.
