    I think there is a big fusion of previously established movements/ schools of design, adapted to newer channels of communication.

    A few designers try to as true to a specific style and "some" of those are the ones that stand out, because the uniformity of their work makes it easier for people to recognize it.

    But even in this case, (I think) there needs to be that contemporary feel to the piece, otherwise the project will get associated with a previous era, and that might be intentional with a few specific projects, but if that is not the case, it could confuse the message.
