Thanks for everybody responding. Surgery in a mere 9.5 hours now. Went out to see a jazz show tonite and had two fine scotch's.
@YAYPaul: Anterior Cruciate Ligament? Yes. Exactly.
@Jaline: Well she told me it was OK to have two drinks tonite before midnight, so that came in handy. Other than that you have to realize that doctors really specialize, and surgeons are like the uber-big dogs. My wife is merely an Interventional cardiologist. Cool yes, but not a surgeon. She doesn't really tell me what's wrong, nor does she do the "back-seat" thing,as she doesn't have the training an orthopedic surgeon does, although she was outraged I sat in my surgeon's office for over 3 hours waiting for an appointment last week. All our non-medical friends agreed with me and just said "Gee, welcome to the world of seeing a surgeon." While all the medical people who are our friends were outraged at it. Take that for what it is.
Even now as i type this, my wife is watching some power point thing about something called "Thrombosis and mitacondrial infarction". I have no idea what that means. However, it is quite cool to have a medical professional in the house, except when I have a crappy day at work. i.e. "Hi honey..man today sucked...client problems...how was your day?" "Me? I was holding a guy's squirting aorta shut to make sure he didn't die." "Ah. Well, shit. I can't complain about anything now."
Anyway, I have to be at the hospital at 9am..should be back home around 4pm..if I'm up to it I'll check in with you all..

- Oh, for sure. I know many doctors are specialists. I'm just curious if other people expect all doctors to know everything.Jaline
