GTA IV region lock shock
Got a Yankee 360? Prepare to be gutted
It's the gaming event of the millennium and a day long-since marked in the calendars of fans of virtual violence: yep, tomorrow is GTA IV day. But in ultimate party pooping style, our good friends at CVG.com have eaten all the sausage rolls and deflated the novelty shaped balloons with news that the game will be region locked on Xbox 360.
So all you North American 360-owning enthusiasts won't be wandering into your local gaming emporium and picking up a PAL version of the game, unless you just really like the packaging that is. PS3 owners will be looking smugger than ever though, as the Sony console apparently has no such issues.
"Why oh why?" we hear you lament. Though there is no specific reason given - and it does seem harsh when most Rockstar games are delivered Region free - you'd have to be dumber than a bag of Spam not to think it's to stop cash-hungry Seppos shipping it to us early at a ludicrous mark up.
So put back the party, get ordering the US version online and prepare yourself for the longest wait of your life.
May we suggest learning Yoga in the meantime to keep your anger levels in control?
