Interesting listen about Germany and energy independence. They're way ahead of anyone else:

The guy (Herman Scheer, President of the International Parliamentary Forum on Renewable Energies; Member of the German Bundestag) makes an interesting point that you can't wait for global consensus cause then you'll always be waiting for the slowest adopter (looking at you USA and China), and by then it will be too late.
