get this, we've been picking names for both sides of the family for years so we don't have to buy a ton of presents for all the siblings and in-laws an no ones dropped the ball ever.
My wife and I live on the west coast so we only make it back to the Midwest for the Holiday every few years.
This past year my wives brother in law (who is a complete douchbag and everyone is waiting for the day my sister in law leaves his ass) picked her name when we where home for an early Thanksgiving ( early November)
Nearly 2 months pass and Christmas is approaching and no packages arrive.
We call the family to wish them a Merry Christmas and the sister in law apologizes her husband hasn't sent the present yet but promises it's on the way. This makes us think the present has been bought but not shipped.
2 months pass and still nothing so I open my big mouth and I come out as the ungrateful selfish one. The sister in laws then says she'll go out and buy a present over Valentines day..."I thought you said he bought one you just forgot to ship it". This is where it gets a little ugly and I tell them we don't need anything materialistic just a freaking card would have been nice.
4 moths later, still no present. WTF?
