OK. I'll say more. It's part of a papermaking residency I am doing with a friend. It's kind of a commentary on the shift from packaged music to digital downloads. We are creating a limited edition series of 4 collector paper plates. The plates will be crafted from the ground up pulp of the record covers and will be 12" diameter. The plates commemorate record packaging but at the same time sacrifice.
We chose the Ramones because they were an unlikely candidate to be commemorated with a plate (think Elvis Collector Plates) but seemed like a likely candidate to be commemorated with a paper plate.
The initial idea stemmed started because we wanted to take an ordinary disposable household paper product and create turn it into art. This all snowballed into Ramones Collector Paper Plates.
