ive been doing a LOT of research into this camera.
one feature of the Ricoh GR was that rather than a "digital noise" is added to compress the images like most cameras, it applied a compression that was more like film grain.
that made the results from this camera very unique.it seems that when Ricoh brought out the GR2 they didnt include this and opted for a more digital form of compression.
If you read forums on flickr you will see there is a real die hard following for the GR.
It seems that the only real advantage the GR2 has over the GR is that its more tuned towards RAW image shooters - it saves to card much faster (3 seconds rather than 15 i think i read somewhere).
