... and yet one man and his wife had to pay $600k in taxes alone in one year...
... something about that doesn't seem 'fair' to be honest.
Just because people find a way to be more successful than you or I doesn't mean their share of the social burden should increase that much.
As a matter of fact... people like Cheney in the top 2% tax bracket of this country (regardless of the rich-boy Bush tax cuts) STILL FOOT 40% OF THE TAX BURDEN.
Yes... 2% of this country literally pays 40% of the entire country's taxes.
So before you get off complaining about one man's % burden being lower than your % burden... imagine you and your wife being forced to cough up $600k simply because you had an exceptionally successful year... doesn't seem fair... does it? Because it's not. :)
Rich people should not have the burden of handling 40% of this country's costs. THAT is wrong in my opinion.
Just because people are successful doesn't mean they use more roads, more public services... more public programs...
... oh SNAP... wait a sec... Rich people handle the entire burden of welfare etc... I forgot. :)... that is if you break down the money spent on welfare and 'the poor' in this country.
People should be rewarded for being successful... not over-burdened...
.. and yeah... Cheney's a Douche... but the douche paid out more money last year in taxes probably than you have in your lifetime thus far.
