I have just order a G5. It is the top end Dual 2Ghz with all the trimmings such as 2Ghz Mem, 160 Gig HDD, Ati Pro Graphics Card 128, Apple LCD Display etc. etc.
It is my first Mac too and can't wait for it. It is not out in the UK until Aug but also has a minimum 6 Week build time so I won't get it until the beginning of Septemeber.
I am hearing from friends that the backlog is now up-to the end of Sept due to demand. I would order quick if your going to or you will be in for a along wait.
