I personally use nothing but "energy star" compliant appliance and electronics. I only purchase nothing but compact fluorescent light bulbs for my entire house. I turn off every light when not in the room, I recycle all of my paper, plastic and glass and try not waste anything.
The bottom line is that it's all about consumption.
The less we consume the less we waste, period. That is eco-consciousness at its purist form. This ideal is considered anti-American and anti-capitalism, considering the fact that just about every American is born and raised to consume, consume and consume more...
Many American's consider this as their God given right!
