I read an article in Time Mag over Christmas that surprised me - was about some American gourmand who was trying to find 'the perfect steak' and who ultimately came across it in Spain. That's the bit that got me - 'cos I'd always thought that the best steaks I'd ever had were in Spain - when I presumed Britain had a rep for Beef and France a rep for good cooking, yet I've never had a better steak in either of those countries.
Spain, though - Mmmmm... fuck me, they know what they're doing - they're either getting the best stuff from Argentina, or, if you go into the countryside - the gnarly, aged stuff that's been hanging in a barn for months on end... I'm slavering just thinking about it.
Reason #34535 to move back there sometime.
