I was just down at Navy Pier last night, biked from Irving Park w/my gf, can't believe the weather this week, it's beautiful every day after all that damned rain most of the month.
there were unmarked cop cars, the crown victoria's and the like, everywhere at Navy Pier. Thought something was going on until I saw the sign that there was a big police convention.
BTW, if any of you in Chicago, kona especially since I know you live in the city, are into sketch comedy of the Second City variety, you should check out my roommate's group The Mantasticks, at the Cornservatory on Lincoln (4210 I think) just north of Irving Park.
saw it this past Friday and it was great, $10 and about 1 1/2 hours. It's on Fridays at about 10:30pm, best to get there by about 10pm, and make reservations possibly, at least call ahead. funny funny stuff I swear to God. The keytar sketch is worth the price alone, if you don't know what a keytar is then that's even more reason to go.
