Seems like a plan with many flaws (the first one being that it screws musicians).
I'm not sure exactly how the music copyright laws work, but I have a feeling it wouldn't take very long for the music companies to kill a plan like this.
When a company buys a copy of photoshop, that doesn't give them the right to use the same copy on every computer in the company, right? If the music laws aren't based on licensing (like software), it wouldn't take them very long to catch up.
