I would try to focus more on what the user finds interesting (which probably means samples of your work). Bring the most important content up front, you don't want the user to loose attention.
I'd drop the splash screen and the page turn effect, and present some real content immediately. I'm not really into entire sites build with Flash, but if it represents your work and your style, just go with it.
