  I think the poster may be liable because it was inciting people to action. If I led a rally saying "I'm John Doe, take anything in my house for free" I think I'd be just as liable in that case. Just because it was a craiglist posting doesn't make it appear that much different. I'll ask my brother, he's a law student. I think he would find it interesting.
