I don't believe the poster committed an actual crime. I mean it was a lie, but at the very least it could be joked off as a harmless prank that went terribly awry.
If anything the ball for what happened next is in Craigslist's court I think. We all know they have safe guards, and rely on the community to inform them of all things illegal and or extremely distasteful - but is/was it enough?
And yes. Every single person who can be connected to the stolen property should be charged with breaking & entering, and theft.
A piece of paper that says you can have something, from an anonymous posting on a public website does not give anyone the fucking right ... I mean ... what the fuck, haha!? I can't even finish that thought!
They should also not be able to bear children because they are fucking retarded, but unfortunately that won't happen.
