    Fair enough. But this place has always been 80% banter. That much of it is irrelevant is the logical consequence of a website that's been going so long, "everything's" already been said and that a lot of people here drop in during work, so want to get away from it all. It fundamentally all still hinges around design though. One of the problems recently has been the transition to the new site with the break up of 'Public Voice' (traditionally idle banter) and 'Public Choice' (traditionally links and auctions, etc). Now there's a lot of 'unwelcome' cross-over from general non-participants hawking their wares, getting loads of response (positive or otherwise), then never being seen again. Which, for a site based on a strong community isn't healthy

    Besides, if it was always specifically design-focused, like so many other sites are and have been, the public interest and involvement would only extend so far and longetivity would suffer.

    In this case, it's not so much the content of the link that's rubbing people up the wrong way (primarily me, by the looks of it, but what the hey) but the fact that this guy in particular only posts his auctions. = spam, which no one anywhere really likes.

    And, not in a bid too brown-nose, because I'm sure you'll already have a fairly negative view of me - I love this photo..
