My name is Jerome.
The name in itself is not all that funny, but whenever I meet someone new they usually go, "Oh ... wait, really?", "Okay, what's your real name?", or just involuntarily respond with, "You're not black."
Sometimes I will tell people my name is Rutteger (Rut-er-guhr). Especially when ordering food, putting my name down for a reservation, and if I just want to goof with people.
You'd be surprised how Rutteger gets barely a batted eyelash when I drop that gem in comparison, haha. Usually people just ask me how to spell it (I think to see if I am telling the truth), to which I immediately blab out:
ARE-YOU-DOUBLE TEE-E-GEE-UHRRR!!!
And to be honest I wouldn't mind naming one of my kid's Rutteger, however, that is going to be a hard sell.
