By the way, I had no idea that wearing a shirt that said, "Cheers to O'Bama!" on it was going to cause such a stir on Saturday during the parade festivities.
I walked into the Pub where I go to watch Arsenal play to catch a quick update on the score and this guy yelled at me the second I waltzed in.
First he went, "Get the fuck out of here."
To which I replied, "Yea, this place stays open based on your repeat business of once a year. I'm going to take what you said to heart."Followed by, "I should punch your fucking face in for wearing a shirt like that."
To which I replied, "Haha, okay, just you know give me a head's up so I can act like I give a shit."At this point people started noticing in the packed bar that something was going on, and we got a bit of a crowd around us while I'm waving to the bartender who then gets me a drink to put on my tab ... because I'm there all the time.
He then goes, "Don't you know he's a Muslim!?"
My head almost exploded, and it was almost as if a record scratched and everyone stopped talking. So I went, "Barack Obama is not a Muslim ... everyone knows he's Black Irish!" Raucous laughter ensued in which his wife at this point started laughing and told him to behave and he just stood there like a blundering idiot.
I guess I only remember the people who hated my shirt. There were people who cheered and gave me a high-five, and others who would honk their horn, or yell something out.
But an alarming amount of people were yelling stuff like, "FUCK YOU!", "YOU FUCKING SUCK!", "DIE!"
Good times. Good times.
