I did the math recently and realized I was drinking 4-6 cups each morning between home and work. I have been drinking coffee every day for years, but I don't get much sleep and I think it's been taking a toll on me.
I tried cutting to one cup a day and I think I can do that.
But now I'm experimenting with giving it up altogether - all caffeine actually. We have free soft drink machines at work, and been drinking way more of those than usual.
So I'm trying to switch to herbal tea right now, juice, etc. In fact this morning I made a smoothie in the blender for the first time in months. Protein powder, greens liquid, blueberries, strawberries, almonds, green tea. I used to do this every morning.
But I love coffee WAY too much to think I could totally give it up. I tried once for a week and it was brutal. I had none yesterday and went to bed at 9:30 pm.
Anyhow, when I do make coffee, I have a maker that grinds the beans right before it brews. It's on a timer, goes off when I get up in the morning. It's great and tastes fantastic.
I just want to know what it's like to be free of caffeine more than anything.
