I remember back in 98 when Stones Throw gave out "My Vinyl Weighs a Ton" and I was into Biggie, Puff and Jay. I was blown away. It was my introduction to the alternative rap scene. I met Styles of Beyond and they gave me their album too. It was such a humble scene back then.. Roni Size was cool at the time, Orb, DJ Icey, DJ Krush. There was no Ultra, just a bunch of small clubs with a bunch of ravers and a small indie hiphop scene. It still amazes me how big this thing got. Its like a part of spring break now for some (not good, crowd wise).
