There Will Be Blood is one of the best movies made in a long time and will prove to be timeless. The story is a simple examination of one man's life. The first twenty minutes tell you all you need to know about what tough, determined bastard the guy is without saying a word. I don't see what could be considered wrong with the ending. It felt inevitable to me. When Daniel yells "I'm finished!" I got chills. Perfect really.

No Country For Old Men was a top-notch thriller with a little bit of obtuse pseudo-philosophy sprinkled in from the book. I enjoyed it, but it was still just a violent thriller with a very bleak message.

The fact these two movies were put head to head after being filmed in the same tiny town around the same time is just a terrible coincidence. They really have nothing else in common.

    • I didn't know it was the ending until he said, "I'm finished". Good way to go out. Less surprising than NCFOM.Jaline
