    Are you talking about the recent Leopard graphics update?

    I updated with that on Sunday (just got my MBP on Friday) and it causes issues with using an external monitor with the MBP in clamshell mode. I have looked around and found many people on message boards discussing this issue, that it has been logged with Apple and that they are looking for a fix.

    Speaking of that, I've found various instructions for using it with an external monitor, with the laptop closed.

    Can anyone list the exact steps you take to plug in an external and use it with the computer closed?

    • connect usb mouse/keyboard, connect monitor, close lid which will sleep comp, wake up with mouse or keyboardacescence
    • These are connected all the time - bluetooth leyboard and wired mouse. it's having problems doing thatmg33
