    Josephus, a non-believing Jewish historian, also wrote about Jesus' life and death.

    There are more written records of Jesus' life (most of them outside the canon of Scripture as they are more historical than redemptive) than there are of the life and doings of Julius Caesar.

    Nobody questions whether Caesar lived, because he didn't claim to be the Son of God, nor was he raised from the dead. People don't want to believe in the unprovable metaphysical because to them it is not safe, it is not quantifiable. Faith can only be given by God, it can't be found in a historical record, even though an understanding of history can strengthen one's faith.
