different applications altogether, really.
for instance, i know many, many 'pro-sumer' amateur photogs that use Lightroom; i do not know one professional photog that does. those same pros ALL use Aperture, all of them.
they are both great in their own right, but as a full-fledged image application with built-in workflows for larger groups and projects, Aperture is hands down 'better'.
fair enough?
