Chemical photographs have an element of truth and authenticity that digital photos will never have.
The other day I showed 30 year old slides I took in Mexico to friends who were on the trip. That actual film was in Mexico, right in front of the things I took pictures of.
Aside from the technical challenge of archiving digital images for 30 years, 30 years on digital images will not have the same authenticity chemical images made 30 years ago do.
