There's been discussion on this before, HD cams under 1500. Try filtering and see.
I can tell you though, that in that price range, it's not true HD, but HDV, a different codec. I've had several people report loads of trouble with HDV in post production. Naturally, this depends on your use.
Maybe someone in the field can shed more light.
