A personal opinion.
The KDU is one of those things in life that may isolate and anger those who are not part of. However it's a very important initiative, in the sense, it motivates those who aren't able to be part of it, to strive and raise their own barm, which on a greater level, does help the industry.
Being in an asian country, where there are few design portals, collectives or initiative that is able to offer international online buzz. I do feel that The KDU has presented a very interesting business model for the creative class.
I hope this helps ease any negative vibes anyone has from the entire thread. Let's all just turn around and find how and where we can become better designers and perhaps, maybe, even some publicity for it.
