Yeah... Nearly everybody goes through such a time—especially if you've been bold and taken risks, which it sounds like you have been doing. Personally, I found consolation in art (books, films, etc.). For some reason misery made me extra receptive to some amazing genius out there. Oh and while I would not recommend it for everyone, moving totally out of the country can be a great reprieve—particularly to somewhere more low tempo and without all the modern hustle of American life. During such a sojourn, you might find that foreign girls will make you totally oblivious to the memory of your ex. There's just something about a Finnish girl in a saunas or a croatian bartender at a beachside dive that can take all your pain away.
