I was in Korea for 6 months on a student visa. When I left I'd overstayed by 3 days (final exams) and discovered I was supposed to have a resident card or something. I nearly shat myself at the ticket counter at Incheon, thinking I'd have to go back to Seoul and find some immigration office or something and miss my flight. But they just sent me down to the immigration office at the airport. I didn't have to pay a fine or anything like that thought, they don't care. Canadians don't even need a visa to go to Korea for 3 months.
