Unghf, that was painful. Sorry, I got bored before I was even two dots across the Atlantic - there should have been more game instruction at the beginning, leaving the sanctimonious droning to droll on throughout play.
Here's a thought for you though - if you take the long term, purely logical viewpoint, you could argue that the mass export of African slaves to a new continent is evolutionary successful, where they're concerned. For sure, it was morally repugnant and many hundreds of thousands were lost and brutalised for a couple of hundred years - but from now 'til the end of humanity, there will be two massive poolings of African gene families. The descendants of those 14.5 million Africans have embedded themselves in the wealth and potential of the new world. Given history's course, would these same descendants be any better off had they remained in Africa?
- also slave trade already existed in Africa within tribes before the Europeans started...menos
- haven't tried this, just the idea of having to register puts me off. plus all these comments don't help ;pmenos
