I was encouraged to read the Celestine Prophecies once by someone who was clearly convinced they were actually a real account of real events. I read the whole thing in that spirit too, and I have to confess that I did learn a universal truth about mankind that serves me well most days:
A large proportion of our species have very soft and maleable minds and appear to be utter buffoons.
