I read this entire thread and holy shit some of you need to find a better way of not criticizing others because of what they think and talk about when it is not related to war or politics or dead soldiers or curing AIDS.
I just think it's pathetic some of your comments. We're not allowed to reflect on the sad death of a great young actor because why? Because you think we should only think about Iraq and <em>those</em> deaths?
Call it celebrity fascination all you want, but I don't consider Ledger "celebrity" in the sense of all these other Hollywood idiots playing up to the camera and building their persona from it. He was a pretty off-the-radar guy and have been in some great movies, showing a tremendous talent for what he does. That Joker role will be hard to watch now, but I'm expecting it to just floor people.
But seriously, the judgmental crap around here for what threads we have and that this thread exists is too much. If you think conversations should be nothing but war and death and all that, I'm sure The Economist or some publication like that has a message board just for you. Either way, I can't stand people telling me or anyone else what the fuck we should talk about on NT.
