    If you want to learn, get someone who teaches to teach you. So many people take out their friends and try and teach them how to ride – and in the end they teach them poorly (washing out the tail rather than using the edge, not distributing weight correctly, not understanding flexion/dorsiflexion, etc, etc) not because they are bad riders but because they aren't amazing riders. Get someone who knows how to teach – not someone who shows the other person how they ride.

    (sounds a bit preachy, but I got a brother who's a coach, and the difference between learning from someone like him and learning from anyone on the hill is astounding).
