    here's the thing, 3 main parts to snowboarding, weight over front foot, need to use the correct edge (toeside or healside, depending on direction) and steering the board with the back foot (like a rudder on a boat). Everyone I've ever taught does this. They get going too fast and they lean back, weight on back foot. So they cannot actually steer and just keep getting more out of control and fall. So if you're riding with them, and you see them doing this, just keep reminding them, "weight on front foot". They well eventually have that "ah Haaaaaa" moment, and learn if I'm outta control, I turn across the hill and slow down, getting back in control.

    Follow the leader takes the, "when should I turn" out of their heads. they just do it, because they see you do it. simple, but it works.
