That if you're in a pub with your girlfriend and she talks about ordering food, don't say you don't want anything then get pissed and order, forgetting to ask her if she wanted anything.
Then don't even bother to try and get her something because all she'll do is give you a "the damage is already done"look and get the hump (and not the good sort).
