Tesco stopped using this logo in the late 80's when they needed a more progressive image. I like the old Cisco logo better. Companies should hold steady during that 10 year period when their logo looks a little outdated. Like a good wine; once a mark has got through that relatively short 'unfashionable' period, it then matures and starts to exude a sense of brand heritage that these knee-jerk re-designs are not able to compete with... in my hum-bowly pinion. Most logo re-designs seem to me to be trying to get back to the more simple, flat kind of logo marks that were used before the late 80's and 90's design craze for shiny, 3d, drop shadowed glassy 'real' logos.
